Jewelry FAQs
I received my ring and it doesn't fit?
If your piece needs adjusting, a skilled local jeweler is often the swiftest path and we're happy to point you toward one if you need a recommendation. If you'd prefer to send it back to us, we'll handle it in-house: return shipping is $110, $75 to size down or $125 to size up. San Francisco clients are welcome to bring their piece to the studio by appointment.
What if I don't know my ring size?
We recommend having your finger professionally sized at a local jeweler for the most accurate result. If that's not convenient, we're happy to guide you through alternative options - just reach out.
Do you resize rings?
Yes, we offer one resize complimentary. Each additional resize afterwards is $150. Custom rings are made in the size requested so will incur a fee if resizing is needed. Please note clients are responsible for all shipping fees.
Can I try on a ring at home?
Before your ring exists in gold, it can exist in your hands. We offer 3D-printed replicas of select designs for $40 - made to your exact size, so you can feel the proportion, the silhouette, the presence of it before anything is cast. The cost applies as a credit toward your piece.
Do you offer personalized engraving?
Yes - engraving is a beautiful way to make a piece entirely your own. All engraving is done by hand at $20 per character. Please note: engraved pieces are considered final sale. We recommend confirming your ring size before proceeding, as resizing an engraved piece may require removal of the inscription.
Custom FAQs
Can I use my own stones?
We source exclusively through our carefully vetted network of gem and diamond partners and do not work with client provided stones. What we can promise is that the stone we find you will be worth the wait.
Do I need to be local to San Francisco?
No. Most of our commissions are created entirely remotely, and we've made that process feel as personal as if you were sitting across from us.
Are your diamonds conflict-free?
All of our diamonds are sourced exclusively from Kimberley Process certified vendors. Responsible sourcing isn't a policy. It's a standard we hold as closely as the stones themselves.
Do I need to arrive with a clear vision?
Not at all. Some of our most beautiful commissions began with nothing more than a feeling. Bring what you have — a photograph, an heirloom, an instinct — and we'll shape it into something made only for you.
Will I see the design before anything is made?
Always. Every commission includes detailed CAD renderings so you can see every curve, every proportion, before a single stone is set.
Code Of Ethics
Maternity Resizing
A ring this meaningful should never feel like something you have to set aside. If your size has permanently changed following pregnancy, we will resize your piece at no charge. Simply reach out to info@catcason.com and we'll take care of the rest. Available for U.S. clients.
Our Commitment to Inclusivity
Cat Cason was built on the belief that extraordinary jewelry belongs to everyone. We proudly serve all identities, all bodies, and all love stories and we'd be honored to be part of yours.
Size Inclusivity
Every ring we make is priced the same, regardless of size. Always. If your size isn't visible on our site, it simply means we're limited in how many options we can display - not in what we can do. Reach out to info@catcason.com and we'll make it happen.
Shipping And Returns
Return Policy
If a ready-to-ship piece isn't right for you, we'll make it right. Written notice must be received within 7 days of delivery, and the piece must be back in our hands within 14 days to be eligible for a full refund. All returns must be unworn and in original condition.
Custom commissions, loose stones, personalized pieces, and made-to-order work are final sale and created entirely for you, they cannot be returned or exchanged.
International orders are not eligible for returns.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship via FedEx International Priority to clients worldwide. We ship to most countries but please double check if we can provide insured shipping to your country.
Shipping rates are $175. Canada typically arrives within two days; most other destinations within two to seven days.
Please note that import duties and taxes are the responsibility of the recipient, and customs timelines are outside of our control.
How do you ship rings?
All U.S. orders ship via FedEx or UPS Priority Two-Day, fully insured, with signature required upon delivery. You'll receive tracking the moment your piece leaves us.
Once a delivery is signed for and confirmed by the carrier, we are unable to assume responsibility for loss or theft. Please do not reroute your package independently. Doing so may void the insurance coverage.
If you'd like your piece held for pickup at a UPS Store or Fedex Store, contact us directly at info@catcason.com to arrange it. Insurance remains valid only when the reroute is coordinated through us. A $20 fee applies for this service.
Should a package be returned to us for any reason, a $100 reshipment fee applies.
